President of the Saint-Cyr Foundation
Since 2006, when it was created, the Saint-Cyr Foundation, which is recognized as a public utility, has been supporting and promoting research at the Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan Military Academy and the Defense Ministry.
Through the increased partnership it promotes with companies and civilian actors, it contributes to the influence of the Army and to the development of the spirit of Defence.
Through its many activities (conferences, publications, theses, research chairs, etc.), it is also committed to giving its partner companiesthe opportunity to make their thoughts, vision and commitments better known.
Since its creation, the Foundation can boast a particularly rich record. It already has six research chairs, some twenty scientific projects and more than one hundred colloquia, conferences and seminars to its credit. Its reputation among partner companies and in the world of research attests to the quality of its work.
The ambition of the new management team, put in place at the end of 2020, is to breathe new life into the Foundation, building on its solid achievements but also developing its activities. Within this framework, the Foundation aspires to expand its network of partners in order to continue and amplify the action undertaken for 15 years.
Working with the Foundationmeans breaking down the barriers between the civilian and military worlds by deepening the mutual benefits they can bring to each other. to share its values with it is to contribute to the strengthening the Armed Forces-Nation link, which gives meaning to our joint actions, means participating in their common effort to anticipate the challenges of tomorrow.

Colloquium “serving together”

IncubaTerre
As part of their studies at the Ecole Militaire, officer trainees at the Ecole de Guerre-Terre have conducted research projects on a number of topics of interest to the Army and Defense. At the end of the year, workshops (equipment, capabilities and maintenance in operational condition; innovation; national territory; combat tomorrow; etc.) as well as round tables (strengthening resilience; cooperating differently; commanding tomorrow; etc.) were organized on June 14, 15 and 16, 2020 at the Ecole Militaire to present their work and discuss the selected themes.
The Saint-Cyr Foundation has committed itself alongside the Ecole de Guerre Terre to support this event called “INCUBATerre”, given the free, innovative and exploratory nature of their reflections.
It awarded three prizes, the first two for the best dissertations by French trainees, the third for the best dissertation by a foreign trainee officer.
- 1st prize: Commandant Jean Martin (medical support in external operations from the perspective of technological innovations)
- 2nd prize:Major Xavier Barde (application of the American concept of multi-domain operations to the French Army)
- Special Award: Lieutenant-Colonel Abdoulaye Coulibaly (Malian army reconstruction strategy)
Séminaire intelligence artificielle
Avec le soutien financier de NEXTER, la Fondation Saint-Cyr a participé à l’organisation du colloque sur l’intelligence artificielle organisé par le Centre de Recherche de l’Académie Militaire de Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan le 3 décembre 2020 sur le site de l’Ecole Militaire à Paris.
